Across the street from us
There are many bases around the island. We have been giving land and some of the bases back to the Okinawans throughout the years. The Okinawans have taken the land and built apartment building, bridges and things like that. Typically the land given back is prime real estate and put to it's new use right away. Well directly across the street from us is old base housing. Many of the houses are long gone but the Okinawans saved about 15 of these houses and transformed them into restaurants, coffee shops and clothing stores. They are small, but the quality of what is inside is incredible. There is the best pizza, coffee shop and bakery in these cute little houses.

Sushi go round
last night we went to the American village and ate at a sushi go round. This place had some unique options. I tried taco such and kimchi sushi. Though I wouldn't recommend eating those rolls again, it was sure fun eating there. The food is fast, there is chicken nuggets for the boys and I love watching for the sushi. We sure are blessed to have these memories.

Naha
Yesterday was a nice day to walk around Naha. Ian was busy studying in the morning, but after David's nap we decided to hop in the car and drive to Naha. Finding parking is horrible, but worth it to see the market, street performers, beautiful trees. Yesterday was a Japanese holiday for 20 year olds (coming of age). The girls were dress in a mix of old Japanese clothes and young/fun bright colors, feather, and fur! Unfortunately I did not get a picture of that!
