First Blog

I decided to make a blog to keep family and friends updated on all our advetures to Okinawa, Japan.

Before I talk about Japan, I need to say what recently happened in our life. Ian came home after an almost 11 month deployment!! He was suppose to come home in February, but was extended when his squadron was needed in Africa. This past year was challenging, and it was heartbreaking that Ian was away for the little things, but the boys and I were lucky enough to live in North Dakota with the support of friends and family. We were able to make some great memories with gi and papa and save some extra money :)

As the military is always changing dates, it was no surprise they changed the date when he would get back to North Carolina. But this time they moved the date up and he arrived in North Carolina before us. He ended up picking us up from the Airport! I can't explain the feeling of anticipation waiting to see your husband after a deployment. It is bigger than Christmas eve or the night before your wedding. That hug and kiss you get after sleepless nights and days apart makes deployments bearable. It's the moment you have your family back together.

We will be in North Carolina until the end of July then in transit for the month of august. One thing we are really looking forward to is using our Chase on the Lake gift certificate for three days and two nights! Since we are currently living in a one bedroom guest house with a one and three year old this vacation will be so nice. Plus we can celebrate 5 years of marriage!

We will be living in Okinawa, Japan for the next three years. Since I have met Ian, all he has talked about was taking me to live abroad with him and now it is finally happening. I am sure we will have great pictures and stories to tell and hope this is a way to let you know what we are up to.

More later...
